Sit on the bench with Spejbl and Hurvínek statues of popular marionettes.
Where? On the náměstí Republiky Square in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
The life-size sculptures were created by the Canadian of Czech origin Lea Vivot. The Spejbl marionette is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
The renowned sculptor cared about making the bronze figures almost alive. She thought about their appearance for two years. Children can move both their heads and their eyes. She had originally planned that the legs would be movable as well, but eventually decided that the children might get hurt. So she gave up the plan and legs are not movable.
There are many interesting places, but you definitely have to say hi to these two legends.
