Who´s interested in glamor and glory of Hollywood should not miss Hollywood Museum when visiting Los Angeles. You can find it in the building of famous Max Factor, where stars of silver screen used to come in their limousines to improve their makeup and highlight their face for the camera.

We paid for the tickets to this very pleasant chatty lady and could look into rooms with showcases full of film makeup history and examples of different makeup styles. On the other floors there is an incredible amount of amazing costumes, accessories and photos from many older and modern films. Harry Potter, for example, gowns, hats and wands, Star Trek costumes, and little Dorothy shoes from the Wizard of Oz, glittered in the showcase.

Special attention is paid here to the great and beloved Marilyn Monroe, her movie beginnings, dresses and makeup, then King of Rockenrol, Elvis Presley has his own corner here. In the horror part of the museum, besides haunting costumes, there is also an autentic cell of Hannibal Lecter, from the movie Silence of the Lambs.

Access to the Hollywood Museum is barrier-free. A large, slow elevator was operated by old man, who was telling interesting stories and jokes. He always waited until we walked through the floor and took us to the next. A really nice LA experience, you certainly will not miss.

Koho zajímá lesk a sláva filmového Hollywoodu, neměl by při návštěvě Los Angeles vynechat úžasné Hollywood Muzeum. Najdete je v budově slavného Maxe Factora, kam se za ním sjížděly ve svých limuzínách hvězdy stříbrného plátna, aby jim pomocí jedinečného make-upu vylepšil a zvýraznil obličej pro kameru.

Vstupenku jsme platily u velmi příjemné upovídané paní a v přízemí prošly několik místností s vitrínami plnými historie filmového make-upu a ukázkami různých způsobů líčení. V dalších patrech je vystaveno neuvěřitelné množství úžasných kostýmů, doplňků a fotkek z mnoha starších i novodobých filmů. Třeba z Harryho Pottera hábity, klobouky i čarodějné hůlky, kostýmy ze Star Treku, a taky se tam ve vitríně třpytily botičky malé Dorotky, z krásného filmu Čaroděj ze země Oz.

Zvláštní pozornost je v muzeu věnovaná skvělé a Američany milované Marylin Monroe, jejím začátkům u filmu, šatům a líčení, pak taky králi rockenrollu, Elvisu Presleymu. V hororové části muzea je kromě strašidelných kostýmů taky cela šíleného Hannibala Lectera, z filmu Mlčení jehňátek.

Přístup do Hollywood Muzea je bezbariérový. Velký pomalý výtah obsluhoval starý pán, který vyprávěl zajímavosti a vtípky. Vždy počkal až si v klidu patro projdeme a vyvezl nás do dalšího. Fakt moc hezký zážitek z LA, ten si určitě nenechte ujít.
