The castle is located on the west side of the city Slatiňany, from which it is separated by the center Chrudimky. The castle has three wing plan in the form of an open letter to the North U. The present appearance dates from the mid-19th century, when it was adjusted for gender Auersperg in a romantic Neo-Gothic style. Originally a Renaissance chateau, it conceals two tours - the chateau and horse tour. The castle is a stud, an extensive English park, forest with numerous sports field with deer and mouflon, cherry avenue and also near the avenue of chestnuts. Park and Castle are open to the public. Everywhere there are stairs, it is not wheelchair accessible. Park is open 24 hours a day for wheelchairs
